What are some of the most pressing topics in civil rights currently confronting the Garden State? Four leaders in New Jersey civil rights advocacy weigh in on this rich discussion that will cover subjects that are making headlines as well as the issues that may not yet have entered the public discourse. Topics to be discussed include voting rights, hate crimes and bias incidents, the rise of white supremacy groups in the state, redlining, sexual harassment, forced labor, challenges to public school curriculum/policy, school segregation and the intersection of technology and civil rights. Attendees will learn more about enforcement and initiatives to combat civil rights violations from the state and federal government as well as the legal debates and arguments that activists and scholars are utilizing and encountering.
