Amos Kim

Director

Amos Kim is a commercial litigation associate specializing in bankruptcy matters at the New York office of BakerHostetler. He is currently a member of the BakerHostetler team entrusted with the task of serving as court-appointed counsel to the trustee for the SIPA liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. Prior to joining BakerHostetler, Amos served as a judicial law clerk at the Eastern District of New York allowing him to develop an understanding of the federal court system. Before his federal clerkship, Amos served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York where he gained invaluable litigation experience in the public sector. While serving the City of New York, Amos defended City employees such as public school teachers and police officers. He embarked on this position after graduating from Brooklyn Law School, where he was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society and Recipient of the Public Interest Public Service Fellowship. Beyond the legal profession, Amos was never a stranger to public service.


After graduating from Cliffside Park High School in New Jersey, he served as a nuclear machinist mate onboard submarines for the U.S. Navy from 2000-2008 where he developed a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie. He attributes his desire for inclusion and diversity to his military career, and seeks to bring the same culture of support to APALA-NJ. After his military career and prior to his legal education, Amos worked for General Electric as a technical advisor and JP Morgan as a Private Client Banker.
