
Gabrielle Canaie
Director
Gabrielle Canaie is an Associate at Hartmann, Doherty, Rosa, Berman & Bulbulia LLP in Short Hills, New Jersey. Gabrielle is a member of the Employment Law Department, where she advises employers and individuals on a broad spectrum of workplace issues. Her practice includes counseling clients on employee discipline, workplace investigations, performance management, and compliance with federal and state employment laws, including the FMLA, ADA, wage and hour regulations, and anti-discrimination statutes.
Gabrielle drafts and negotiates employment and separation agreements, restrictive covenants, and employee handbooks, and provides strategic guidance on matters such as hiring, termination, and employee classification.
Gabrielle will also focus her practice on various Trusts & Estates and Elder Law matters, including Medicaid planning, guardianships, general estate planning, estate administration, and planning for disabled children and adults.
Prior to joining HDRB&B, Gabrielle practiced at several New Jersey law firms, where she supported both public and private sector clients in employment litigation and counseling matters.
An engaged member of the legal community, Gabrielle serves on the Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. She is also a member of the Hispanic Bar Association and the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey. Gabrielle has been recognized as a Rising Star by New Jersey Super Lawyers® and is a frequent speaker on topics including litigation, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
As an APALA-NJ Director, Gabrielle hopes to strengthen APALA-NJ’s connection with other associations and inspire new members to join. She truly enjoys rolling up her sleeves and giving back to the community and support to other committees and members. Gabrielle looks forward to contributing to the legacy of APALA-NJ and positively impacting the careers of all attorneys statewide.
